Diverse geotropic responses in the orchid family

Moreover, the architectural and functional innovations that achieve fast gravitropism in the flowering plants appear to be lost in both terrestrial and epiphytic orchids, but are present in the early diverged orchid subfamilies. Taken together, our findings provide physiological and molecular evidence to support the notion that epiphytic orchids lack gravitropism and suggest diverse geotropic responses in the orchid family.

Phospholipid scrambling induced by an ion channel/metabolite transporter complex

Cells establish the asymmetrical distribution of phospholipids and alter their distribution by phospholipid scrambling (PLS) to adapt to environmental changes.

Galectins induced from hemocytes bridge phosphatidylserine and N-glycosylated Drpr/CED-1 receptor during dendrite pruning

During neuronal pruning, phagocytes engulf shed cellular debris to avoid inflammation and maintain tissue homeostasis.

Exploring the role of spinal astrocytes in the onset of hyperalgesic priming signals in acid-induced chronic muscle pain

Hyperalgesic priming, a form of pain plasticity initiated by initial injury, leads to heightened sensitivity to subsequent noxious stimuli, contributing to chronic pain development in animals.
