Sex-biased zinc responses modulate ribosomal protein expression, protein synthesis and social defects in Cttnbp2 mutant mice

Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are neurodevelopmental conditions influenced by genetic mutations, we investigate the sex-biased responses of mutant mice carrying an ASD-associated mutation in Cttnbp2 to dietary zinc supplementation using behavioral assays, proteomic and bioinformatic analyses, and puromycin pulse labeling to assess protein synthesis.

Decoding innate lymphoid cells and innate‑like lymphocytes in asthma: pathways to mechanisms and therapies

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory lung disease driven by a complex interplay between innate and adaptive immune components. We explore current therapies targeting these cells and their effector cytokines for asthma management.

The Bacterial Outer Membrane Vesicle-Cloaked Immunostimulatory Nanoplatform Reinvigorates T Cell Function and Reprograms Tumor Immunity

We investigate a nanotherapeutic platform integrating immunostimulatory cytosine-phosphate-guanine oligodeoxynucleotides (CpG-ODNs, hereafter termed CpG) into mesoporous silica nanoparticles cloaked with OMVs (CpG@MSN-PEG/PEI@OMVs) for cancer immunotherapy.

Redox-State-Dependent Structural Changes within a Prokaryotic 6-4 Photolyase

Photolyases repair UV damage to DNA by using absorbed blue light.

Identification of PTGR2 inhibitors as a new therapeutic strategy for diabetes and obesity

Inhibition of PTGR2 is a new therapeutic approach to treat diabetes and obesity through increasing endogenous PPARγ ligands while avoiding side effects including increased adiposity, fluid retention, and osteoporosis.

Ferritin Fused with MiniSOG for In Vitro Photodynamic Therapy

To avoid off-target effects, targeted cancer therapy offers a feasible alternative to traditional cancer therapies such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Deep learning predicts zebrafish body size based on local cellular features.

In this study, we demonstrate that analyzing as few as 27 skin cells within a single image of 0.01 mm2 is sufficient to predict the individual’s overall size, ranging from 0.9 to 3.1 mm2. Using a gradient-weighted class activation map (Grad-CAM), we further identified the cellular features influencing the model’s decisions.

New Heat-Tolerant and Euryhaline Cyanobacterium from Dongsha Island Provides Insight into Extremophile Adaptation

A research team led by Drs. Hsiu-An Chu and Chih-Horng Kuo from the Institute of Plant and Microbial Biology, Academia Sinica, in collaboration with Dr. Ching-Nen Chen from the Department of Oceanography, National Sun Yat-sen University, has successfully decoded the complete genome sequence and conducted detailed study on a newly discovered unicellular cyanobacterial strain, Cyanobacterium sp. Dongsha4 (DS4).
