Narrowband Ultraviolet B Induces Peripheral Regulatory T Cells to Exert Antigen-Specific Immune Suppression

Commonly used to treat inflammatory skin diseases, narrowband ultraviolet B (UVB) has been shown to induce antigen-specific immune suppression when combined with alloantigen immunization, but the underlying mechanism remains elusive.Our findings suggest UVB can induce antigen-specific Tregs in a clinical setting, highlighting its potential for broader immunosuppressive applications.

Evaluation of Multiplexed Liquid Glycan Array (LiGA) for Serological Detection of Glycanbinding Antibodies

This report illuminates the path for future development of LiGA-based serological assays and suggests the need to develop alternative methods for conjugating glycans to phage to avoid liabilities of the hydrophobic DBCO moiety.

Auto-aggregation in Streptococcus intermedius is driven by the Pel polysaccharide

We demonstrate that aggregation is dependent on the Pel polysaccharide and that Pel production allows bacteria not only to persist longer during infection but also modulates the immune responses of the host.

Epoxide Stereochemistry Controls Regioselective Ketoreduction in Epoxyquinoid Biosynthesis

Here, we fully elucidate the biosynthesis of (-)-asperpentyn (2) through heterologous reconstitution in Aspergillus oryzae, chemical synthesis, chiral analysis, and biochemical assays.

De novo missense variants of KCNA3, KCNA4, and KCNA6 cause early onset developmental epileptic encephalopathy
Hum Mol Genet. 2025 Aug 15;

In this study, we report three early-onset epilepsy cases with de novo missense mutations in Shaker-type channel genes, including Kv1.3, KCNA4 (Kv1.4), and Kv1.6, identified through whole exome sequencing trio study.

Cryo-EM and cryo-ET reveal the molecular architecture and host interactions of mycobacteriophage Douge

We describe the cryoelectron microscopy (cryo-EM) structure of mycobacteriophage Douge, which contains 1,105 protein subunits assembled into a complete siphophage and is coated with glycan-binding domains for mycobacterial cell surface interactions.

High rearrangement in bilaterian genomes: chromosome-level analysis reveals link between genome structure and gene evolution rate

This research helps to understand the relationship between genome rearrangements and evolutionary adaptations in animals, and sheds light on the molecular mechanisms underlying the stability of chromosomal structures.

Comprehensive analysis of repetitive extragenic palindrome sequences identified in bacteria and archaea using a new web-based tool, RepRanger

We demonstrate that RepRanger represents a versatile tool for discovering REPs in bacteria and archaea, providing new insights into their functions and sequence diversity.

Structural Dissection of Vaccinia G9 Identifies Residues Essential for Membrane Fusion and Complex Assembly

Our findings demonstrated that G9 function requires multiple domains, including A16-binding interfaces and conserved motifs not resolved in previous protein structure. These results establish G9 as a central EFC component and underscore its potential as a target for antiviral development.
