中研院及國家生技園區的燕群

國家生技園區上空最近常有燕群經過。當中比較高空的是小雨燕，牠們其實是雨燕科的鳥類。而比較低空的則主要是家燕，這些才是燕科的鳥類。

中研院常見的四種燕科鳥類以及家燕巢和小雨燕巢的差異。燕科鳥類中除了家燕，也偶見洋燕、東方金腰燕(striolata群，也就是過去習慣稱呼的赤腰燕)、與棕沙燕。其中棕沙燕屬於洞巢鳥，非常仰賴附近河川與湖泊的天然邊坡。小雨燕的土巢經常群聚在高樓的屋簷或高架橋樑的下面。一般騎樓下的碗狀巢則是家燕的巢窩。
